The Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board has released the plans for the new public school to be built this year in Castleton. The Moffet and Duncan Architects Plans were approved on March 26 by board trustees.

Construction for the as yet, unnamed school will begin this summer after the final design has been submitted to the Ministry of Education and Cramahe Township for approvals. Tenders will be requested in May or June this year. Once a winning tender has been accepted work will begin.

Board officials expect it will be completed in August, 2010 in time for the first day of school.

The proposed school will contain a 2,000 square-foot library, a 2,800 square-foot gym, and 15 classes including a science lab and kindergartens.
