Brighton murder investigation continues

The murder investigation in Brighton continues and the OPP released the following update on December 2:

(Brighton, ON.)- On November 25, 2009 at approximately 12:58pm members of the Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment were dispatched to a residence on Raglan Street in the town of Brighton.

Upon arrival, a 38 year old female, identified as Marie France COMEAU, of Brighton was discovered dead.

Marie France COMEAU was a Corporal with 437 Squadron at CFB Trenton, Ontario.

As a result of a post mortem conducted, the death was ruled a homicide.

The investigation is still being conducted by members of the Northumberland OPP Detachment under the direction of Acting Detective Inspector Paul McCrickard of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.

An extensive forensic examination of the victim’s residence continues. Additionally, a door-to-door canvass of the neighbourhood is being completed by investigators.
