School Board elects new Chair

In a December 3 announcement the Kawartha Pine Ridge Districct School Board announced the election of a new Chair and Vice-Chair for its Board of Directors.

Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board trustees tonight elected Trustee Diane Lloyd as Chairperson of the Board and Trustee Angela Lloyd, as Vice-chairperson. At the annual organizational meeting of the Board, trustees also confirmed meeting dates, audit and banking arrangements for the coming year.

Chairperson Diane Lloyd represents the townships of Douro-Dummer, Galway- Cavendish & Harvey, North Kawartha, and Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield. She has served as a trustee for the past nine years, and is the immediate past Chairperson of the Board.

“There is no greater or more important pursuit than the education of our youth. It is an honour for my fellow Trustees and I to be engaged in and commit to our part in seeing this goal come to fruition,” says Chairperson Lloyd. “I look forward to building upon the successes we have had.”
Vice-chairperson Angela Lloyd represents the Townships of Asphodel-Norwood, Cavan-Monaghan, and Otonabee-South Monaghan. She is currently serving her 15th year as a Trustee, and is a former Chairperson of the Board. She has most recently served as the Board’s representative delegate of the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association.

“Our Board remains focussed on student achievement and success for all students. This means making decisions to ensure that we meet the diverse learning needs of all students, including our most vulnerable,” says Vice-chairperson Lloyd.
