On June 3 the Northumberland O.P.P. Detachment announced it was investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred on the 2nd of June 2009 at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Telephone Rd. east of County Rd. 25 in Cramahe Township.
An eastbound Dodge van struck the front left tire of a westbound farm tractor. The van sustained extensive damage. The driver of the van, who was the lone occupant, was seriously injured.
It has been confirmed that the driver of the van, Amy Morton, later died as result of her injuries in Sunnybrook Hospital on June 3.
Cramahe Township. Fire Department attended the scene and extricated Ms Morton. The 33-year-old Cramahe Township woman was transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital by ambulance and later to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto by air ambulance.
The driver of the tractor, a 21 year old Cramahe male was not injured. The investigation is ongoing.
