Runners who pass through Colborne in the December Olympic Torch Run on December 15 will be greeted by banners and residents waving tiny Olympic flags.
Community Development Officer, Rebecca Goddard-Sarria, showed the items to Cramahe Township Council on Oct. 6. She and her committee of four hope to involve many Cramahe groups and individuals in the run through the former village. Banners will be mixed with Cramahe winter banners and remain in place until March, 2010. The group hopes to enlist the support of local businesses and participation of Cramahe schools.
Cramahe will invite council members from Alnwick/Haldimand to join the run celebration. The runners will not be passing through Alnwick/Haldimand. Once they have passed through Colborne they will get on a bus and head to Cobourg on Highway 401.
