Flag is raised

The flag is up at the information kiosk by Highway 401. In a brief rainswept ceremony members of Rotary, Optimists and the Legion joined with Cramahe Township officials.From left - Glenn Spence, Betty Brisco, Mayor Marc Coombs, Jim Williams, Rebecca Goddard-Sarria, Hank Packard, John Rutherford, Pat Westrope, Cathy Packard and Patti May brave the elements.


The concept of having a Canadian flag adjacent to the Highway of Heroes was brought to Cramahe Township Council earlier this year by John Rutherford. Councillor Pat Westrope took it from there and with the help of the Castleton Colborne Optimists, the Colborne Legion and Colborne Rotary, the flag raising was organised.
